Mastercard and NXP turn any watch, ring or accessory into a contactless payment device

NXP Semiconductors N.V. the co-inventor of near-field communication (NFC), today announced a collaboration with MasterCard. MasterCard’s payment ecosystem will enable any IoT* device or object to become a payment device. So the companies are revolutionizing how OEMs and banks deploy secure “pay” solutions to the market.

*The Internet of Things (IoT) – the hyper-connected world where every device from the phone to the wristwatch will be connected to the Internet – is transforming the way consumers interact and transact.
